Present in the state of Alabama, the city of Smiths Station lies in Lee County. Locally known as ‘Smiths’, the city is home to a population of 4,926 people and has a total area of 6.95 square miles of which 0.03 square miles comprises of water. The area was first settled in 1826 with the Central of Georgia Railway stretching through the area to Alabama in 1845. The depot was named after Mr. Broadus Smith who was a well-known settler that lived in the area at the time. The city was not officially incorporated until 2001, which makes it the second newest city of Alabama.
